I believe flowers have the power to transform more than a space—they transform the way we experience a moment. They become part of the memories we carry long after the wedding day has passed.

I'm Tara, owner and floral designer behind Peterson's Patch, a flower farm and wedding floral studio nestled in Sterling, Connecticut.

Inspired by the beauty of nature, I create romantic, garden-inspired floral designs that evoke emotion and tell each couple's story with intention. Many of the flowers I design with are grown right here on our farm, then thoughtfully paired with the finest seasonal blooms to create floral experiences that feel abundant, natural, and deeply personal.

But beautiful flowers are only part of what I do.

More Than Flowers

Before becoming a wedding florist, I spent more than twenty years as a registered nurse.

Caring for people has always been part of who I am.

Today, I simply care for people differently.

Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming, and I know how much trust it takes to hand over your vision. My role isn't just to create beautiful flowers—it's to guide you through the process with calm, thoughtful communication so you can enjoy your engagement knowing every floral detail is in capable hands.

When my couples look back on their wedding day, I want them to remember how they felt.

Growing flowers has taught me to embrace the beauty of every season.

Many of my favorite blooms—dahlias, lisianthus, ranunculus, and other specialty flowers—are lovingly grown here on the farm. When a design calls for something beyond what the season provides, I thoughtfully source from trusted local flower farmers and premium wholesalers who share my commitment to quality and sustainability.

Every stem is chosen for a reason.

Not simply because it's beautiful—but because it helps tell your story.
