Our Story

My name is Tara Peterson and I own the farm along with my husband Chris, the man behind the infrastructure.  I am the dreamer, grower, marketer, and designer behind the flowers.  We have two golden retrievers named Cooper and Brisket, and a cat named Gidget. I am also a registered nurse and I have been practicing since 2004. I still currently work as an RN at a local high school and have a couple of months off in the summer.  While working in the hospital at the bedside brought me great satisfaction for many years, it also came with much heartache and once the covid pandemic hit, I knew I was craving much more.  I just wanted to be outside and grow beautiful things and in doing so I had found a passion I didn't realize I had been missing.  In 2020, my husband built me a small, raised garden bed and that quickly expanded to eighteen more raised beds. In 2021, we added a greenhouse and in the winter of 2021, I completed the Floret Online Workshop to further my knowledge and later completed the Gardener's Workshop Online Flower Farming course as well as Dave Dowding's Flower Farming School Online. In late 2021, I sowed the first seeds of the season to start my dream of having a flower farm where I could share the beauty of flowers with the community.  We use sustainable practices that support soil health and native wildlife.  We grow our flowers in an environmentally friendly manner and we welcome the different pollinator populations on our property.  In 2022, we expanded our growing space to add an additional quarter acre field to grow perennial and annual flowers to sell at our roadside stand and various farmers markets.  The roadside stand is stocked with Kraft paper wrapped bouquets or mason jar arrangements for you to grab and go with convenient payment methods including cash, Venmo, PayPal, and credit card payments available on the website. The self-serve flower stand is open as we have flowers available starting in April and you can find out when it is filled by following us on our Facebook or Instagram for the latest updates!   We are members of the Floret Flower Collective.
