I’m Tara Peterson, the heart and floral designer behind this flower farm, nestled in the scenic landscape of Sterling, CT. Specializing in wedding floral design, growing specialty cut wedding flower such as dahlias,  lisianthus, and ranunculus, I believe that flowers have the power to transform a space, evoke emotions, and tell a love story.

At Peterson’s Patch, every bloom is selected with care and intention. Whether grown on our farm, sourced from other local growers, or hand-picked from trusted wholesale suppliers, each flower plays a role in bringing your vision to life. With a focus on seasonality, artistry, and sustainability, my goal is to create romantic, nature-inspired arrangements that feel both timeless and unique.

I take pride in growing specialty cut flowers, with a deep love for dahlias and lisianthus—the showstoppers of the season. By cultivating many of the flowers I use in my designs, I offer couples a truly special farm-to-vase experience. When needed, I also source from other local farms and floral suppliers to ensure each arrangement reflects your dreams while maintaining the highest quality because let's be honest, I can't grow all the things!

From lush bouquets to breathtaking floral meadows, I specialize in custom floral designs that reflect your style, personality, and the beauty of the season. My approach is personal and intentional—I work closely with each couple to craft florals that enhance their special day and leave a lasting impression.  I know how overwhelming it can be to plan a wedding because I only got married at thirty six, only six years ago and it was a pretty big wedding!  It is a lot of work but I can help ease the overwhelm if you trust me to flower your wedding. 

 

Flower CSA – Bring Seasonal Blooms Into Your Home

 

Experience the beauty of fresh, locally grown flowers all season long with our Flower CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program. As a CSA member, you’ll receive weekly bouquets filled with vibrant, farm-fresh blooms, hand-harvested and arranged with love. It’s the perfect way to enjoy nature’s beauty in your home or share it with someone special.

My passion for flowers stems from a desire to share that joy with others—whether it’s a couple seeing their wedding florals for the first time, a CSA member enjoying a fresh bouquet each week, or someone stopping by the farm stand to bring home a little piece of nature’s beauty.
